Privacy Policy
This policy covers migr8suite.com: the pages you are reading, the free USCIS case-status check on the home page, and the early-access email list. It says what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.
Who we are
Migr8Suite is case-management software published by Sunset Atomic LLC ("we", "us"). Write to admin@migr8suite.com about anything on this page.
This policy is about this website. If your firm uses the Migr8Suite application under a written agreement with us, the handling of your clients' case data is governed by that agreement, not by this page.
The free case-status check
You can check a USCIS case status here without an account. We do not ask for your name or your email address in order to do it.
The receipt number you type goes to our own server, which asks the USCIS case-status service about that case and returns the answer. Your browser never contacts USCIS directly, and the receipt number goes nowhere else.
We hold the answer USCIS gives — including "no case found" — for about one minute, indexed by the receipt number, so that checking the same case twice does not cost a second call to USCIS. After that minute it is discarded. Your browser holds the same answer for the same minute, which is why an immediate re-check is instant.
We keep no history of lookups. We do not connect a receipt number to a person, an email address or a visit, and we never use one for marketing.
One thing to be plain about: the receipt number travels inside the web address of the request to our server, so it can appear in ordinary server logs alongside the IP address the request came from. Those logs exist to operate and secure the service. They are not used to profile anyone and they are not shared.
Rate limits and your IP address
The check is free and needs no sign-in, which makes it the most exposed thing we run, so it is rate limited: 5 lookups a minute and 30 a day from one IP address. To count them we keep a counter tied to your IP address for the length of that window — one minute, or one day — and nothing else. When the window passes, the counter is gone.
The email address you give us
If you ask for early access, we collect three things: the email address you type, which button or plan you came from, and whether you were reading the page in English or Spanish. Nothing else — the form has one field.
Those go to Kit (formerly ConvertKit), the email service we use to run the list, and we use them to write to you about Migr8Suite. We do not sell your address, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. Every email carries an unsubscribe link.
Analytics
We measure how this page is used with a cookieless analytics service. It is configured per environment and can be off entirely; when it is off, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics request is made.
When it is on, it records a fixed list of events: a page view, a lookup submitted, whether that lookup found a case, a signup submitted and its result, a click on "log in" or "book a call", a language switch, and reaching the pricing or FAQ section.
Every property attached to those events comes from a fixed list of values — a language code, an outcome word such as "found" or "not_found", a plan name, or true/false. Nothing you type is ever sent: not a receipt number, not an email address, not a hashed one. An event that does not match the list exactly is dropped whole rather than trimmed.
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, the analytics script is not loaded at all.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies. It stores one item in your browser's local storage: the language you chose, so the page opens in it next time. Your browser's site-data controls clear it.
Who else sees a request
- USCIS — receives the receipt number, because it is USCIS' own service that answers the question.
- Kit — receives your email address, the source and the language, and only if you submit the form.
- Amazon Web Services — hosts this site and our servers, in the United States.
- Our analytics provider — receives the events described above, when analytics is configured.
- Bunny Fonts — your browser fetches this site's typeface from fonts.bunny.net, which sees your IP address as part of serving it.
That is the whole list. There are no advertising networks, no social media pixels and no data brokers on this site.
How long we keep things
- A case-status answer: about one minute, then discarded.
- A rate-limit counter: one minute, or one day, then gone.
- Your email address: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Analytics events: held by the provider, with nothing in them that points back to you.
- Server logs: kept for operations and security only.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from any email we send. You can write to admin@migr8suite.com to ask what we hold about your email address, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and we will act on it.
We cannot find "your" case-status lookups, because nothing ties them to you. That is the design, and it is also the limit of what we can answer about them.
Children
This site is for legal professionals and the people they help. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we change the date at the top of the page. If a change matters to you, we will say so on the list before it takes effect.
